About Us Our Organizational
Structure
The Santa Barbara Children's Chorus is
a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation with a volunteer Board
of Directors. The Board meets once a month throughout the year,
with various committees meeting as necessary. The Board’s
current President is a practicing attorney, and its treasurer a
certified public accountant.
Reporting to the Board is the Artistic
Director, who enjoys considerable freedom in designing and implementing
a program to fulfill the organization's mission. The artistic staff
reporting to the Artistic Director includes the directors of our
junior choirs, the vocal pedagogues who teach one-on-one voice lessons
to our choristers, and our staff accompanists. An Administrative
Director currently handles day-to-day administration.
Each parent or guardian of a chorister is a member
of the Parents' Guild, the auxiliary organization that conducts
an annual fundraiser and assists our staff with day-to-day activities.
The elected president of the Parents' Guild is a full voting member
of the Board of Directors, giving the parents direct input into
the running of the organization.
