You'll find materials in this section that explain auditions, registration and the overall commitments taken on by members and parents of choristers.

We hold auditions for choristers in the 4th through 12th grades to evaluate the appropriate chorus level and musicianship class placement, in order to ensure a successful experience for each child. No formal music training experience is necessary. No auditions are necessary for Kindergarten through 3rd grades.

  • We hold Primary Auditions in May/June each year for the following season, which starts in September.
  • The audition will take ten to fifteen minutes and will be conducted privately with the Artistic Director, chorister and parent.
  • The audition consists of an interview, simple vocal exercises demonstrated by the Director, a check for pitch accuracy, an evaluation of vocal range for part placement and a written music theory assessment to assist in musicianship class placement.
  • Please bring with you to your audition a completed registration form.
  • The yearly $100 registration fee and uniform fee (dependent upon chorus level) are due upon acceptance into the Chorus.

Placement Interviews are an informal time for parents and children to meet with the artistic director, Rebecca Hodson, and to learn more about our program. Please call the administrator, Kimberly Gregersen at 563-SING to schedule an interview time.

Children in 1st through 3rd grade do not need an interview. Please visit the How To Register section of this website for registration forms and information.
