Join Us — Chorister & Family Commitment2006-2007 SEASONMembership in the Children’s Performing Chorus Division: Jubilate, Bel Canto, Lyrique, & Cantabile Choirs, is for the ENTIRE SEASON, September through May. It is imperative that each family understands that this is a commitment for the year, as our organization bases our financial, staffing and program decisions on the number of choristers that begin the season in September. Membership in the Early Childhood Division of the Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus is by 12-week session. WEEKLY REHEARSALS
As an organization, we whole-heartedly support children being involved in a variety of activities and are inclined to devise workable solutions to scheduling conflicts, on a limited basis, when approached significantly ahead of time and understanding that the commitment to the chorus is a priority. PERFORMANCES & CALENDARSanta Barbara Children's Chorus performances are absolutely mandatory. As a performing ensemble every member is a unique addition and essential for the success of every other member and the chorus as a whole. We ask that parents please carefully look at the chorus performance calendar and mark their family calendar accordingly. The chorus will publish our season calendar the summer

Crucial
to the success of our educational program and to the individual
development of each singer is the consistent and punctual attendance
at all rehearsals. Limited absences are excused for illness, family
emergency, and if pre-arranged, for medical appointments, school
and church activities. Families are encouraged to carefully review
the time commitments and scheduling of other activities, e.g., sports,
dance, theater involvement, so as not to double book our rehearsals
with additional lessons, practices, and game commitments.
